The course provides you with an overview of the processes involved in the analysis, design, and implementation of information systems. Topics to be covered include software development life cycle (SDLC), feasibility study, requirements analysis, systems analysis, and systems design.
Systems analysis and design methods covered in this course include data flow diagram, data dictionary, and entity-relationship approach. These topics can be classified into three modules:
Module 1 -- Systems Analysis Fundamentals
Module 2 -- Information Systems Analysis
Module 3 -- Information Systems Design
The project is an important part of the course because it provides you the opportunity to confront real-life situations and problems during the systems analysis and design process. It is, therefore, essential for you to be actively involved in this project. You are required to learn the necessary software to complete the project.
